Discreet HIV Testing now on wheels- 8 Dec 2011

It is now easier to get anonymous HIV test, with the roll-out of a mobile service by advocacy group Action for AIDS (AfA).

Launched yesterday, the initiative, the first of its kind in the region, uses a van equipped to conduct HIV and syphilis test. Names, identification numbers or addresses will not be recorded and the process takes no more than 30 minutes.
The annual cost of the mobile service is expected to hit $191,000. The Mac AIDS Fund – an initiave of MAc Cosmetics to support people affected by HIV/AIDS globally – is fudning the pilot programme with $250,000, with the support from the Ministry of Health (MOH), the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports (MCYS) and the DSC Clinic.
