S’poreans to ‘be positive’ about HIV- 2 Dec 2011

Fearing rejection from loved ones and society if they are found to have contracted HIV, too few are coming forward for voluntary HIV testing.

“Patients who are diagnosed early due to voluntary screening and testing have a significantly increased chance of enjoying a normal productive life. Unfortunately HIV-related stigma and discrimination in society undermines such prevention efforts,” said Dr Khor in her speech.
