A total of 1225 MSM were enrolled into this project and took the HIV test.
Of these 32 tested HIV positive (overall prevalence 2.61%)./p>
HIV prevalence was higher in saunas (3.66%) than in bars/clubs (1.5%).
This repeat project was well received by the gay and MSM community. With the heightened publicity and interest in HIV and MSM, many seized the opportunity to take the test. The high visibility of this project is effective in reminding us not to be complacent about HIV/AIDS and continues to contribute to normalizing HIV testing.
HIV infection among MSM tested in gay venues remains relatively low in Singapore.
