Fikri joined AfA in 2022, after spending over six years working as a policymaker and a decade volunteering for LGBTQ/feminist organisations. She is concerned that public health crises tend to hit already vulnerable groups harder — hence worsening existing inequalities — and believes in the importance of evidence- and community-based interventions to address this.
